ST. GREGORY’S CHURCH - EVENING FELLOWSHIP
Secretary’s Annual Report 2017
We commenced the year with two enjoyable summer outings – first in June to Daws Hall, Lamarsh and then in July we visited the Colne Valley Railway.
Our Autumn/Winter started in September with a talk ‘The Yanks are Coming (An American View of a Suffolk Village)’. This was followed in October by a talk on Autism and in November we heard about the Ambulance Service and Voluntary Responder Group.
In December we enjoyed a Christmas Lunch at the Cock and Bell, Long Melford.
The New Year started following the closure of the Church Hall when we met in January (a cold bitter winter evening) at St. John’s Methodist Church to hear about a Fair Trade supported visit to Sri Lanka. February’s meeting at the Friends Meeting House was about the Befriending Service and in March at The Christopher Centre we heard about the work of the Town Pastors.
Our year finished in April back in Church to hear of the working life of cartoonist Barrie Appleby (of Denis the Menace in the Beano fame).
Another year of a very varied programme attended by about 28 members each meeting.
