ST. GREGORY’S CHURCH FELLOWSHIP GROUP
Annual Report 2024

St Gregory’s Fellowship April 2024

It’s a year now since meetings of St Gregory’s Fellowship Group resumed during which time we have enjoyed a wide variety of meetings and outings. Including:

  • Outings to Clare Priory and Assington Mill, both followed by Tea and Cake
  • Homemade Afternoon Tea at Painters @ the Angel
  • Christmas Lunch at The Brewers Arms (Just in case you are worried about our waistlines, a slimming club meets in the Hall after we do!)
  • We’ve also had interesting, illustrated talks on ‘Growing Up in Iran’ and ‘Bee Keeping’, plus a fun afternoon making Music with some quite unconventional instruments

By the time you read this our 2024 Programme will be underway. This year we have:

  • Illustrated talks on ‘Go Start’ Community Transport, Alfred Wainwright’s Classic ‘Coast to Coast Walk’, and ‘Sudbury’s Yesterdays.

Still to look forward to are:

  • Outings to the East Anglian Air Ambulance base and Old Joes Adventure Golf
  • Summer Afternoon Tea and Christmas Lunch
  • Illustrated talks on ‘The Camino de Santiago Walk’, ‘The History of Perrywood’, ‘Sudbury Community Wardens’, ‘Coco Chanel’ and ‘Storehouse Foodbank’.

We are indebted to Irene, our Programme Secretary, for her hard work and ingenuity in sourcing such varied and fascinating speakers for our Programme.

We meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Christopher Centre, Friars Street commencing at 2.30pm. A subscription of £3.50 per person is payable for each meeting, which includes tea/coffee and biscuits, plus a complementary raffle. All are welcome to these meetings. Membership isn’t limited to members of St Gregory’s Church.
Look out for our printed Programme leaflets, available at the back of the Church’ our posters and the Church Newsletter.

My grateful thanks to my fellow committee members, Irene Harding Payne (Programme Secretary), Ann Newport (Treasurer) and Pam Arbon (Secretary) without whom we wouldn’t be running. Thank you also to Gill Bruce for sending Greeting Cards out to members on both happy and sad occasions and to all those who serve our refreshments.

Please do let us know if you are interested in joining our group or would like any further information.

May the Lord bless us and take care of us always.

Avril Gardiner (Leader)
