ST.GREGORY’S FELLOWSHIP GROUP Annual Report 2018
The Fellowship Group now meets on the third Thursday in the month at 2.30pm. After a fairly unsettled period following the sale of the Church Hall we now meet at the Christopher Centre in Gainsborough Street with some financial help from the Church. The Christopher Centre provides us with a warm comfortable room, kitchen facilities and some limited parking.
The Group have met eight times during the year and have had two outings during the summer – one to the Education Centre at the River Stour Trust for a talk on the history of the River Stour followed by tea and the second to Hartest Church and tea at the Crown. In December members plus visitors enjoyed a Christmas lunch at the Brewers Arms, Polstead. Our speakers have included talks on the work of the Town Pastors, cartoonist Barrie Appleby, The Red House Sudbury, Textiles in East Anglia, a slide show of ‘Anglia through the Seasons’, Bagpipes and Goat Farming.
The number attending meetings averages about 30.
